For the ladies!

I recently bought a pair of zaggora hot pants,

What are they?  Well, while you use it, it increases your core strength, tightens your abs, thighs and butt, helps cellulite and even helps you lose weight.  They guarantee you'll lose 2 dresses wearing these for 2 weeks.  I highly recommend them to anyone!  I normally wear them from the morning until late evening, especially while working out and going for a walk.  It actually makes working out easier since it makes your core exceptionally strong.  Also while going for a walk, it makes it a little hard which is great!

Are you looking to get fit for your new years resolution?  Well these are a great start.  Next would be grabbing some p90x movies or slim and limber and start doing 20-60 min of it 4-6 times a week combining with mixing it up with an hr min yoga.  You'll be able to shed those pounds faster then you can ever imagine, have fun while doing it and looking exceptional in no time!  None of this silly cardio machine workouts.  I haven't touched a machine for a long time.  If anything, use a skip rope or dance!  The full body strength training will ALWAYS be the best thing you can do.

Combine those with at least two protein smoothies a day, liquid omega 3- 1 a day and not eating past 8pm!

Yep, it's really that simple.

Mistakes that blondes need to know!

A lot of people use Moroccan oil for their hair.  Personally, I rather use argan oil or coconut oil but that's besides the point.. Unfortunately, being blonde and using M oil is that it makes your hair very brassy!  So keep your paws off this oil if you want gorgeous looking blonde hair that looks like you just walked out of a salon.

Another great tip for staying blonde is using a purple shampoo.  Everytime I shower I use my personal favourite, Clairol shimmering lights.  I only keep  it in for 2 minutes though so you don't walk out looking like Grimace!.  Just keeps it looking gorgeous and platinum until my next hair app!

Banish those lines!

So we all have to deal with aging sooner or later.  Luckily, there IS a way to looking youthful longer! 

Obviously we need lots of anti-oxidants which I apparently don't get enough of, lots of rest, meditation and deep breathing to keep your blood pressure and stress down, healthy eating and lots of exercise.  

Well what can we do to personally keep our skin looking healthy?  Lots of moisturizing, my preference throughout my body and my face would be using coconut oil and jojoba oil.  I NEVER touch anything that is not natural anymore for my skin.  So get rid of all that expensive skin care garbage you have.  You don't need any of it!!

For fine lines or even the areas you know will be sensitive to aging apply cold-pressed castor oil (found at whole foods, health food stores) onto the area(s) once a night massaging just a tiny bit into the area. 

I assure you, you will be impressed.

One of the best mascaras!

It's called THEIR REAL by benefit.  I buy it from sephora.  You can even mix and match with other mascaras for ultra volume.  Such as with buxom lash.

Zucchini Brownies that are to DIE for!


  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded zucchini
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 2 cups confectioners' sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the oil, sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla until well blended. Combine the flour, 1/2 cup cocoa, baking soda and salt; stir into the sugar mixture. Fold in the zucchini and walnuts. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until brownies spring back when gently touched. To make the frosting, melt together the 6 tablespoons of cocoa and margarine; set aside to cool. In a medium bowl, blend together the confectioners' sugar, milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in the cocoa mixture. Spread over cooled brownies before cutting into squares.

Get through the day smoothie

I just made this smoothie today and tastes AWESOME!  Has everything you need to get through the day.  You can always add your own ingredients ( i will list a few at the bottom for ideas ).

1 Banana
1 Scoop Vanilla Whey Protein (found in workout protein shops)
2 teaspoons of benefibre (found in pharmacies)
1 large handful of frozen strawberries
5 icecubes
1 1/2 cups of water

Optional add ons: Tbs of flax seeds, tbs virgin coconut oil, other frozen fruits such as blueberries or a mix fruit, couple of handfuls of frozen spinach.

The solution for perfect looking feet

We all would love to have beautiful feet, but how do we get it?  We've tried numerous expensive foot creams, prescribed creams and yet nothing seems to work.  Do you have a problem with corns, calluses, or dryness?  Well here is my personal fave! 

Castor oil!!  Not only is it good for growing amazing long lashes and eyebrows..but amazing for cracked, dry feet and corns!  You can get it from a health food store or a high end store such as "Whole Foods".

Apply 1-2 a day.... I love applying it after a shower and before bed.  You can wear cotton socks  overnight for extra effectiveness. 

If you have extremely dry feet, apply a mashed banana mixed with a little honey on the dry areas, let it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse.  Then use a pumice stone to remove any leftover dead skin then apply castor oil.

Tea tree oil benefits!

Tea tree oil is incredible.  It's much better to use as anti-fungal treatments then what you get from the doctors- in my personal opinion.  If you don't already have it, you may want to run out and grab it!  Benefits?  Well my personal faves would be:

Great as a foot soak.  Everyday, soaking your feet in warm water with drops of tea tree oil is a major treat!  Not only is it very relaxing but it fights bacteria from wearing your shoes all day while warding off any odour as well, bonus!  Make sure to put a little castor oil on your feet after to replenish any moisture loss as tea tree is very drying.  Nothing uglier then dry feet!

Another great use is the area "below".   You know what i'm talkin bout!  lol... well at least you better know.  Anyways, washing below with a cloth, tea tree infused water... excellent!  Or even using it as a bath oil.  Once again, fights off any bacteria, keeps you smelling fresh and goodbye any bacterial or yeast infections.  Yep!!  It's that easy...  pfft like I have any of those probs.  I'm perfect!  :D

Why everyone needs Virgin Coconut Oil in their kitchen

I find that Virgin Coconut Oil is the most important thing everyone needs to have!  Where to buy it?  Grocery stores!!  Surprised?  Here is what I particularly find it handy for.

1.  Great ingredient for smoothies.  Not only does it give it some delicious flavour but this oil is used by Supermodels, people that are trying to lose weight, and i'm sure probably your next-door neighbour!  Don't be scared that it's fattening.  It's NOT!  Major misconception that people need to become aware that this is actually very healthy for you.  You can have up to 3 tbs a day for females or 4 if you're male.

2.  Razorburn.  Before shaving apply this 10 minutes before shaving to prevent those nasty red marks after shaving.

3.  Deep conditioner.  Apply to dry hair the night before, sleep with it in, then wash twice the next day.  Nice shiny hair!

4.  Leave in conditioner.  A tiny little amount at the ends of the hair does wonders! 

5.  Moisturizer for face and body.  No, it doesn't clog your pores.  Helps with itchiness, dryness, helps with even people with oily skin, even skin disorders like Eczema.

6.  Oil for popcorn instead of hydrogenated oils. 

7.  Cooking oil.

8.  Super healthy for animals.  I like mixing a little in my dogs food bowl once a day. 

9.  Applying a tiny amount on animals coat when it's dull and lacks lustre. 

10.  Great for babies as a moisturizer as well!  Super harmless, you really need a super tiny amount.

Help with body pain and stiffness

So I was sitting here wondering how to fix my aches and pains that I deal with from exercise.  It was brought to my attention that using a tennis ball to roll under your feet, back and everywhere else that hurts is quite the affective tool!  Tried, and is 100% approved!  Give it a try!

Stuffiness, coughing, sinus problems?

Fill up a bowl of steaming hot water.  Drop 8-10 drops of oil of oregano into the bowl, plop a towel over your head, breath nice and deep over the bowl for about 8-10 minutes.  You can do this up to twice a day.

Delicious smoothie recipe before Winter hits!

  • 1 quart strawberries, hulled
  • 1 banana, broken into chunks (freeze an hr before if you want a more icecream consistency)
  • 2 peaches
  • 1 cup orange-peach-mango juice (or something similar)
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 tbs of virgin coconut oil (optional)

Reducing your blood pressure, destressing

We all know meditation at least 20-40 minutes a day is incredible for your mind and body.  Unfortunately, not everyone has the ability to take that much time in their day to do so.  So here is a trick I've seen on Dr Oz... and it really helps!

Everyday you MUST do this... it helps relieve stress, tension and even helps with headaches while avoiding health problems such as high blood pressure, tension headaches, etc.  You can do this as long as you need to, or as many times of the day you'd like.  Normally i'll do this twice a day for about 3-5 minutes when I don't have time to do my normal meditation.

Relax comfortably in a seated position.  Rest your hands on top of your thighs upwards if you need more energy or downwards if you need to be more grounded.

Breath deep, listen to your heartbeat.  Focus on every beat.  Then shift your focus of your heartbeat into the palms of your hands.  Feel your hands throbbing at the beat of your heart.  You're basically shifting your energy and your blood downwards which creates clarity and peacefulness throughout your body and your mind.

Dark chocolate chips
Vanilla yogurt
Flax seeds

You can also add granola, with a banana and watermelon, or mixed berries, mixed berries with a piece of angel food cake.

Get rid of those Chapped lips!!!

Even though it's summer, i've noticed so many people with chapped lips!!  Best ways to get gorgeous luscious soft lips?  Well, to exfoliate!  Don't bother with those expensive products.  I prefer exfoliating with either sugar or a toothbrush (best right after a shower too!).  Then I just lather on some chapped stick or vaseline!  Goodbye chapped lips!

Cookies oh my!

Amazing recipe!!!  But so bad for you haha!  I just made these yesterday and totally to die for!  These are PMS approved!!

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup C & H dark brown sugar (firmly packed)
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup cold salted butter, cut into cubes
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 cups (12 oz.) semisweet chocolate chips
  1. Preheat oven to 300° F.
  2. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix well with a wire whisk.
  3. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer blend the sugars at medium speed.
  4. Add the cold butter and mix to form a grainy paste, scraping down the sides of the bowl. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix at low to medium speed just until blended. Do not over mix.
  5. Add the flour mix and chocolate chips and blend at a low speed just until mixed. Do not over mix.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto an ungreased cookie sheet, two inches apart.
  7. Bake 20-22 minutes until golden. Transfer cookies immediately to a cool surface with a spatula. You can line sheets with parchment and transfer to a cold surface to do it faster.
Makes 30-36 cookies, depending on the size of your scoops.

The BEST POTATO CHIPS you'll ever eat!!!!

These are amazing!


  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 potato, sliced paper thin (peel optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste

You can always increase the recipe and keep extra's in a bag for later :-)


  1. Pour the vegetable oil into a plastic bag (a produce bag works well). Add the potato slices, and shake to coat.
  2. Coat a large dinner plate lightly with oil or cooking spray. Arrange potato slices in a single layer on the dish.
  3. Cook in the microwave for 3 to 5 minutes, or until lightly browned (if not browned, they will not become crisp). Times will vary depending on the power of your microwave. Remove chips from plate, and toss with salt (or other seasonings). Let cool. Repeat process with the remaining potato slices. You will not need to keep oiling the plate.

Tips on staying cool during this heat!

1. Wet a tank top and wear it out- you can even put a tshirt overtop of your damp shirt just make sure it's a dark colour haha.

2. Eat watermelon.  Keeps you full, hydrated and it's delicious!

3. Drink tea.  Drinking a warm beverage cools your body temperature down.  

4. Drinks smoothies.  Not only are they healthy for you, but why have an alcoholic beverage that's horrible for you when you can be refreshed with a delicious smoothie?

5. Go to a waterpark!  Not only does it keep you staying young but get soaked and enjoy life!!  

6. Wear your hair up if you have enough hair. 

7. Stop worrying about what others think of you, wear shorts...capris, tank tops.. this isn't a time you should be worrying about being self conscious. 

8. Put an icepack on the back of your neck.

9. Put your pillow cases in the freezer before bedtime until they get nice and cool (my awesome hairdresser gave me that idea!). 

10. Freeze a banana for an hour- mash it up and put a little bit of cinnamon and nuts on it.  Nice and refreshing!

My Technique for AMAZING Long Lashes!!!

Ok ya'll, time to make those wimpy little lashes into extraordinary ones!!  First, we need a great eyelash curler.  I'd either go with Shu Emura or Shiseido

You need TWO mascaras.  A soft mascara and a hard mascara.  So get your butt down to sephora and get my two faves!  Buxom lash or Dior Show (mascara A) and Their Real by Benefit (mascara B).

Curl your lashes from root to tip then apply a coat of mascara A- switch to the opposite eye and then apply mascara B.  Then use mascara B last for bottom lashes. 

Then GENTLY.... otherwise you will have no eyelashes left...curl them again.  

There you have it!!  Now you can use any type of oil or vaseline to remove mascara at the end of the day. :)

Steak Rum Gravy

This is the most amazing gravy you MUST make whenever you're having a nice juicy steak.  Normally I will have my steak with corn and mashed potatoes and just smother everything with this gravy!  Try it yourself and let me know! :)

1 tablespoon olive oil
2 beef tenderloin steaks
3 tablespoons Jack Daniel's whiskey
2 small garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon assorted peppercorn, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried leaf oregano
1/4 teaspoon dried leaf basil
1/8 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup whipping cream
1 1/2 tablespoons sour cream
fresh chopped parsley

Heat olive oil in a medium skillet over high heat until hot. Sprinkle tenderloin steaks with salt and pepper. Sear tenderloin steaks on both sides in skillet. Remove from skillet and place on a rack in a boiler pan.

Broil 4 to 5 inches from heat 4 to 6 minutes on each side.

Add bourbon to drippings in skillet, bring to a boil over medium heat and deglaze pan scaping browned bits that cling to the bottom. Add minced garlic, peppercorns, basil, oregano and salt and cook for 1 minute. Add whipping cream, bring to boil and cook for 6 to 7 minutes or until sauce is reduced by half. Remove from heat. Whisk in sour cream. Spoon sauce over steaks and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.

My secret weapon- my incredible hairdresser!

So ya'll keep asking how my hair is ridiculously healthy and yet still maintaining being a blonde!  Well I guess I should let the secret out huh?  I met Curtis almost 8 months ago and instantly had an amazing connection with him.  He's confident, sweet, talented and super down to earth.  Better yet, he's one of the most amazing colourist i've ever known! My hair has never had breakage once since i've known him!  

The salon is downtown vancouver called Ignite Beauty Lounge.  It's prestigious, bright, comfortable and just located outside stadium skytrain which makes it super convenient!  Nikki who is the owner of the salon is the most sweetest girl you will ever meet let alone her amazing staff.  You will NOT be disappointed! 

When you go there, check out their heated scissor cuts, you will never go back to normal cutting again!  Why?  Well you will have to get it to understand! :)
